Self-Discipline & Goal Setting

Last year was a good year for me personally. I have a husband I adore; I live in a house that has an unbelievably beautiful view (we are renting), and I finally found my tribe.

But on a professional level, I felt like a failure.
I released three books, a novella, and a short story. You’re all thinking “That’s amazing!” but the plan was to release another two books and a Christmas novella.

Why didn’t I do it?
I suck at organization. I suck at making myself stick to a deadline. Oh, I have a plethora of excuses, but the truth is I lack self-discipline. If I was working for someone else and I had to do those things, I would have. Hell, I would have done double, but for myself in my own business, I procrastinate and stumble around.

Now, you’re all wondering why I’m telling you this. Well, I have a whole team of people who rely on me to pay them for their services, everyone from my cover designer to my long suffering PA Maci, whom I adore. I owe it to them to become more organized and work to a schedule.

So, I started looking for a system, or a planner or SOMETHING to help me.

A friend told me about Leonie Dawson, www.leoniedawson.com

She’s a hippy, a mother, a wife, and a successful business woman.

Her workbooks are pretty, girly and make you take a look at yourself. It’s hard, and I don’t like doing it, but I need to work through my past to get to my future. Does that make sense?

Some of it is a bit airy fairy for me, but I’m doing it.

I have goals, but I don’t like writing them down. Why? Cause if I don’t hit them I feel like a failure. But not this year. This year I’m going to smash those goals.

I purchased The Biz Bundle and right now it’s on half price sale. LOL, always the way – LOL.

I got one for Maci too; we are going to do them together.
In the Biz Bundle, there is a workbook for Life Goals and one for Business Goals and a bunch of other stuff.

I’m doing the Life one with my hubby. I’ve known him since I was sixteen and I really believed I “knew” him. Don’t get me wrong; I do, but I’m learning things about him. He’s sharing his goals and what he wants for us for the future. It’s amazing stuff.

Here’s the thing, if you need help in any area of your life, there is a system or a person or something that can help you. Look for it. And what works for me, might not work for you and that’s okay. Find what works for you. It’s okay to try new things; you might discover something about yourself you didn’t know.

At least you will have tried, there’s no failure in that.
